Permits, licenses & certificates |
We can assist you in the application for the following :
Please note that application success is dependent on the quality of the submission and discretion of the approving department. |
Formal classification of cargo tariff codes |
The tariff codes used to classify products is an international identification system which helps border control departments at the origin and destination identify products which are leaving/entering a country. While in most cases the codes accurately describe the item, there are cases where more than 1 code may be used to describe the item. This may result in different treatments of the item every time the product enters the country.
To dispel any ambiguity, we can assist you in obtaining a formal classification of your item of import from Customs. Once the code is formally classified, it will receive the same treatment at all border control offices throughout the country. |
Foreign embassy endorsements |
Exports to certain countries require the endorsement of their embassy in Malaysia to ascertain that all the documents are in order, especially when it comes to items for human consumption. Alien Logistics is able to assist in coordinating the endorsements for you, as well as organising the supporting document collection required for the embassy to proceed with the endorsements.

ATA Carnet |
A Carnet du passage or ATA Carnet (pronounced kar-nay) is an international customs and temporary export-import document. It is used to clear customs in over 80 countries and territories without paying duties and import taxes on merchandise that will be re-exported within 12 months*. Carnets are also known as Merchandise Passports or Passports for Goods.
Our team can guide & assist in the application process, however the applicant company will be responsible for the details in the Carnet document. |
Duty & tax |
Duties and tax payments can be divided into direct or deferred payments depending on your business model. As a means to facilitate trade, Malaysia has over 20 Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) which allow for selected tariff codes to enjoy lower or waived duties.
Our customs clearance team will be able to advise on the eligibility of your goods for these FTAs and the forms required to support the import of the goods. |
